‘Mars Lags’ has you deal with the radio transmission lag that makes real-world robotic Mars exploration a fickle endeavor (for now … until we figure out FTL radio … or AI takes over).

For some context: Electromagnetic radio waves traveling from Earth to Mars will take between about 3min (opposition) and 22min (conjunction) to arrive, one-way. As a result, operators on Earth will have to wait up to 44min (signal round-trip time) before they can know anything about the effects a sent command had on the situation on Mars.
